June releases you can’t miss

June has been a big month for music on all counts. Summer has arrived, some of the best music festivals have already been and gone and there are countless releases doing damage all around the globe.

Riva Starr – The Wickedest Sound

Riva Starr kicks off his new label Brock Wild orientated around bass-heavy and leftfield house with a bouncing and edgy original track, to let us know what his imprint is all about.

Dusky – Cold Heart

London duo return to their 17 Steps label with a four-track EP showcasing their ever ranging ability within house and techno. This beat is laced with an old skool house sound that is in more than good hands with these two.

Hauswerks – Way Back When

Hauswerks’ ‘Way Back When’ opens the compilation on a tribal tip via jungle field recordings, organic rhythms, chanting vocals and bulbous subs.

Amine Edge & DANCE feat. SerGy – Bad Influence (Jesse Perez Remix)

June 2 on Cuff

Jesse Perez is a new name hailing from Miami who is making plenty to headway in the underground house scene. This remix for Cuff showcases his knowhow when it comes to making dancefloor ready cuts.

DJ Deep – Stressin (Ben Sims Remix)

June 2 on Deeply Rooted

Ben Sims rolls in with a drum assault that doesn’t slip up for a second.

Cristoph – Feel

June 26 on Pryda Recordings

M.A.N.D.Y. – Planlos in Seattle (Rework)

June 9 on Get Physical

This rework of ‘Planlos In Seattle’ takes a little longer than we’d like to get going, but once the cinematic and moody strings take a hold it’s certainly worth it.

Radio Slave – Revenge

June 23 on Rekids

Radio Slave has prepped two new tracks for his label. ‘Revenge’ draws from his time growing up in London while ‘Reverse’ is the kind of stripped back dancefloor jam that’s become Matt Edwards’ speciality.

ONYVA – Tibetan People (Barber Remix)

June 9 on ON IT

Barber dives in with a remix to showcase the dark and seedier side of tech house.

Riva Starr, Dennis Cruz & Gene Farris – Play

June 2 on Snatch!

Riva Starr may be launching a new imprint but that doens’t mean his first and foremost label Snatch! is going into retirement. Nope, far from it. The three producers label owner Riva, tech house star Dennis Cruz and Gene Farris join heads to ‘Play’.

Lee Curtiss & Jungkey – Rapid Fire (Matt Tolfrey EC1 Mix)

June 9 on Leftroom

EC1 is a London postcode that nightclub Fabric falls under, that’s more than enough reason to give this one a listen.
