The Labour leader made an appearance at Glastonbury Festival
A huge crowd at Glastonbury Festival welcomed Jeremy Corbyn on stage on Saturday afternoon. It was announced ahead of the five-day event that he would be introducing Run the Jewels at the Pyramid stage and thousands gathered to hear what the Labour leader had to say.
Introduced by Glasto founder Michael Eavis, Jeremy used his time on stage to promote creativity, peace, justice and democracy. “I’m proud to be at Glastonbury because it inspires so many,” he added at the end of his speech.
After addressing the crowd at the main stage he headed off to the Left Field tent dedicated to activism. “Oh, Jeremy Corbyn” cheers resounded all weekend, including during grime star Stormzy’s performance.
Corbyn was originally billed to appear at 2016’s event but pulled out after the Brexit vote was revealed to take place at the same time.
