Estudio 3.14 renders ‘Prison Wall’
Interns at Mexican design and architect company Estudio 3.14 have visualised the wall proposed by Donald Trump.
Vivid pink and standing metres above ground level, the digital impression of the billion dollar wall is titled ‘Prison Wall’. It includes a prison for processing undocumented people, with a shopping centre on the American side.
“Because the wall has to be beautiful, it has been inspired by Luis Barragán’s pink walls that are emblematic of Mexico,” says Estudio 3.14. “We hope that these visuals will allow the public to imagine the policy proposal in all of its gorgeous perversity.”
Due to the border covering mountain ranges, this will complicate and push the cost up says designer Norberto Miranda.
Running along the southern frontier, between the United States and Mexico where many people cross into the country illegally. Trump says it is would prevent “bad hombres” entering the USA.
During his campaign, the president-elect’s policies on immigration and planned border wall have been controversial, though it seems these views have brought him into the White House. It’s too early to tell if the expensive wall will go ahead, Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto has ruled out paying for it.
