Every Monday at DC-10 is monumental
Circoloco celebrates 18 years in the game throughout the 2016 season. 18 years all spent at the ex-airport hangar in San Jordi, better known as DC-10. This year equals the Coming Of Age for the Monday session which has become an essential way to start a week in Ibiza.
At the beginning almost two decades ago, Circoloco changed the habits of clubbers, who put their best fancy dress on to join the loco clown face, making the trip to DC-10 after breakfast. Licensing has changed since then, but you can still get a sunkissed rave on in the afternoon, dancing on the decking in the garden while music blasts you in the face.

Circoloco opened its doors for the summer in late May, as per they invited heavyweight after heavyweight to play their part. However, sometimes it’s best to save yourself for a party on the near horizon, and the Monday just passed was certainly the right ticket.
However, sometimes it’s best to save yourself for a party on the near horizon, and the Monday just passed was certainly the right ticket. Circoloco’s final June date enlisted the likes of Marco Carola, Davide Squillace and Marcel Dettmann to release their music goods on the cosmopolitan crowd.
Upon arrival, we enjoy plenty of breathing space in the courtyard and inside the terrace. Ibiza gets busier by the day but we’re still pre-peak season. For us claustrophobic types at DC-10 or any club for that matter, quieter periods can bring better enjoyment. Also known as more space to break out your best dance moves.
Getting a taste of Jennifer Cardini’s selection capability on the terrace was a pleasant surprise, before losing several hours in the grips of DC-10 like many before us have.
We flitted between the two rooms and sets of Damian Lazarus, Sasha, and Marco Carola. In the space of mere minutes, you could hear melodic techno from La Fleur on ‘Waves’ on behalf of Sasha, to solid jacking beats. Marcel Dettmann manned the main room, while those eager to see Carola in DC-10 were treated in the red-illuminated terrace to devour into proper party pumper ‘I’ll House You’.
Shortly after, DVS1 meant strict business in the main room chronicling cosmic synth touches with forceful beats. It wasn’t until we caught the closing half hour with Davide Squillace that the true musical gems showed themselves.
Davide masterfully lifted us from the moody depths of &ME – ‘Shadows’, raining a dancefloor bombs on us ‘Atto D’Amore’ (Dub Version) by Serge Santiágo. It was a euphoric end which lingered while we checked our phones to see 5am starting back at us as we boarded the bus home.
Circoloco reigns as a premier island hotspot to hear the best music from past and present. Check it out for yourself every Monday until October.
