George Fitzgerald should be finished mixing his album soon
When he’s not posting pictures of his cats and synths, George Fitzgerald has been in his studio in Berlin, producing his first full-length.
Fading Love is due out on April 27th through Domino’s sub-label Double Six Records. Said to be based on the end of a romantic relationship, as well as George’s dwindling enthusiasm for music solely orientated for the club.
The announcement that he’d be dropping his first LP came with the first listening of its content. ‘Full Circle’ features Boxed In on vocals, in which George’s ability with a synthesizer shines through.
Lawrence Hart also sings on two tracks ‘Crystallise’ and ‘Call It Love (If You Want To) ‘, vocal work being a new venture for the producer.
George’s productions have brought something special to the house/techno table and show off his ability to make fluid tracks. Whatever George has in store for us, it’s sure to be worth the wait.
Highlights from his back catalogue include the euphoric ‘Every Inch’, and ’Thinking Of You’ with its escalating synths to die for. His latest production was in the form of ‘Magnetic’/’Bad Aura’, showing a darker side to his style.
Late February saw George release his take on Jon Hopkins’ ‘Open Eye Signal’. The second break with the return of the rumbling bass makes it an absolute weapon.
